April Fools Day
Sydney has outgrown her 0-3 mos footed clothes. I tried to have her wear this little number one last time, but you can tell from her face how well that went over. She absolutely hates it when she can't stretch out or when her feet our bound by something. She also doesn't like to take naps in her pack n' play. I've been trying to get her to nap there once in the morning and then at mid-day thinking that it might help her routine at the sitters when I go back to work, but she wants nothing of it. Needless to say, she's back to napping in her crib. Our neighbors, Chris, Elizabeth, and little Hayden, let us borrow this toy. Hayden just turned one, so he outgrew it a long time ago. Sydney had taken full advantage of this. She loves the little fishies that swim around while she kicks into the air.I love it when she holds her head up and looks around like a big girl.
I think this one looks like she's ready to pounce on something!
Her cheeks are so chubby and heavy that they sort of droop down and take the corners of her mouth with them. Sydney was the smallest baby of all her little friends, but she definitely has it in the cheeks department (and the looks department if you ask her biased parents).Sydney went to her first volleyball game today. We went to see some of the girls Jeff coached last year play for their college teams. Since KU isn't playing basketball anymore, and its not football season, Jeff decided it was okay for her to wear this cute Nebraska Huskers outfit from her Great Aunt Debbie McArthur. Besides, they're a good volleyball team.Syd pooped all over her little white pants shortly after getting settled into the gym, so we had to totally change her outfit. She was pretty zonked from all the excitement, and from everyone asking her if she was going to be a volleyball player like her daddy. My reply was that she could if she had her daddy's height, and if she has her mommy's height (or lack there of it) then she could do gymnastics instead. Although, she could not take after either of us, and be gifted musically and we'd be perfectly happy. Every once in a blue moon she'll take a pacifier. She is obsessed with having her fingers or knuckles in her mouth, and we're not very keen on her being a thumb sucker, so I've started to give this to her more often. This round lasted about 2 minutes and then she shot it across her crib.

She's gotten so big!! She is adorable, I love her chubby cheeks. At least you can get Syd to nap in her crib, that's like torture for Brynn. She likes napping in her swing or bouncy seat. We're in the process of breaking that habit and it's not pretty.
