Halloween Costumes

I'm stealing this wonderful idea from my friend Danielle. Many of you saw this on her blog & participated in her vote last year.

Below are our costume ideas for Syd this year. Send me a comment & let me know which one you like best!

1. Bumble Bee
2. Duck #1
3. Pink Kitty
This is Jeff's favorite for Sydney's halloween costume this year.
4. Duck #2

House Paint

We're having our house painted this week! Yippee! Our 10 year old house originally had 7 year paint on it, so we had a little wood-rot in the front. We're getting a new door & frame, so we'll be good as new! They started spraying it on today & we're already pleased. I didn't take a before picture (darn it!) but it was light gray (almost white) like a hospital color before. The trim is still white in this picture, but it will end up being a few shades lighter brown than the main color. I'll post another picture once its finished.

And these pictures are just for fun, because Sydney is so stinkin' cute!

Play Date & Little Ballerina

We had a play date last week with Hayden (neighbor) Brynn, Ella (not pictured) and Maddie. I only took this one picture, and it explains why this was the only one! Quite the chaos of toys & toddlers!
This is Sydney's "I'm trying really hard" face.
She obviously gets her dancing talents from her mother. Just look at the technique of those pointed toes! She's ready for point shoes already!!! Music, or in our house known as "mi-mi's" is something that Sydney requests quite often....at home & in the car. She's thrilled as can be that she can reach the volume on the living room stereo now. This picture is more a way for me to commemorate our summer together.....Sydney being such a trooper in the jogging stroller while Mommy sweats it out for an hour! She rarely complains, only now & then to request "sing-sing" & "side-side" which translates to swing & slide at the park with hand gestures included.

New shoes & a day at the pool

I think I've gone blogger crazy! Well, really, dropshots has been down and now that its back up I want to take full advantage of it!

Here are some picts of Sydney at the Gardner Aquatic Center. Its a pretty cool pool! Maddie & Jackie were there with us, but all the pictures of the 2 girls together had one of us mom's in it also, and neither of us were inclined to be exposed in our suites to the online world yet!

Sydney needed to up-size her shoes, and I'm pleased to see that her skinny heal has fattened up since our last shoe shopping trip. Last time we had to buy special shoes at Stride Rite for $60 since her little heal was so skinny & all other shoes fell right off. This time we were able to get her a cool pair of Nike's as well as some super cute, hot-pink, suede, Timberland boots for this fall for the same price!!! She measured at a 5 1/2, so we bought her 6 1/2 so she has some room to grow.

Here's Jeff looking thrilled while Sydney is running wild around the store grabbing all the shoes w/ cartoon characters on them.

It was a hot day, so the promise of some ice water was enough to get her settled into his lap just long enough to put the new shoes on. They really do make her run faster & jump higher, just ask her! She'll be running mock-5 around you in no time-taking all the shoes off the shelves & running into grown-ups everywhere! Good times.

18 month Check Up

Not too much to report on this stage's doc check. She's really been growing, but I already knew that!

Here are Syd's stats:

Weight: 25 lbs 6.6 oz-73%
Length: 33 in-90%
Head: 19 in-94%

No shots this time, but she still wasn't thrilled to be there. She was good enough to earn a sticker & a little plastic fish. She had a fever that morning, but it ended up being nothing. At 102 he said it was too high to be attributed to teeth, but it was gone the next day & besides a little decrease in appetite, she was totally fine.

Fingers crossed, we don't take her back until she's 2. Of course, I'll be a mean mom this fall & bring her in for a flu shot & another booster that could wait until she's 2, but I think its better to get them over with all at once.
