Baby Fever

Sydney has her first little virus. Friday she felt pretty hot, but at first I blew it off since it was so hot outside. She was pretty fussy about taking her naps, and wanted to be held a lot. It turns out she had a temp of 103.4. I promptly gave her some Tylenol, and continued that every 4 hours throughout the night. She threw up twice at 9pm when I was trying to give her the Tylenol(she gags on it because she hates it), so I'm not sure she kept much down then. She got down to 99 at 5am, so I quit giving her the Tylenol until this evening because she was back up to 101. We've had lots of cuddle time, and I'm not being very strict about her schedule right now. I've been letting her sleep when she wants and eat when she wants. With Jeff out of town, I'm not getting much done around the house...but that can wait until my baby feels better. I miss seeing her smile, and really hope she feels better tomorrow. If she's still fevered Monday evening, then I'll be taking her to the doc Tues am instead of going into work. She hasn't reached 105 or above, so we haven't needed to go to the urgent care at Children's Mercy South. Keep us in your thoughts & prayers!

System Meltdown

Lilypie Baby Ticker

So, our home computer is on the fritz right now. We need to replace the harddrive. I'm not fond of using my work laptop for downloading my personal pictures and blogging, so I'll have TONS to post when its fixed next week.

My surgery went well. I was pretty sore & slow until last night when I really started to feel better. As of tomorrow I have 3 more weeks of limited activity, and I can't enjoy the pools when they open up this weekend. I'm very happy to be able to take a shower again, and life got much better once the drain was removed.

Sydney's doing great. We're working on getting her to establish a more regular napping pattern, which is suppose to develop between 4 & 5 months according to the books I'm reading. Rearranging your babies nap schedule is a tricky little game, but she's been a good sport for the most part. She still wants to take her morning nap very early, around 8am, and I'd like to stretch her until closer to 9am. She's taking 2 afternoon naps now, but they're both just shy or right at an hour. She seems tired when she wakes up, so we're putting her to bed no later than 7:15. We might need to move her bedtime up even earlier still, I'll see how next week goes. We're going to introduce rice cereal next week, and we're super excited about that! I bought little spoons and bowls at Target today.

Jeff is off to New Orleans for men's volleyball nationals. He's really pumped for the trip, but I'm pretty bummed that I'm not going with him this year.

Easter Picts

I took Syd a couple weeks ago to get some picts in her Easter dress since we didn't take many that Sunday. We just went to Penny's, and she got really fussy while we were there, but they still turned out cute & adorable.

This is the pose I ended up getting. It's Jeff's favorite.

Mother's Day & Syd's Blessing

My first Mother's Day was wonderful! Jeff & Sydney surprised me that morning with a certificate to the spa and a date to take a gondola down the river on the plaza with dinner & wine one evening. Unfortunately, Syd won't be joining us for that, but she'll be in bed by then anyway & someone who loves her will have to babysit for the evening. Mother's Day is also the 3 year anniversary of Jeff's marriage proposal to me, and marks 1 year exactly from when I first believed I was pregnant! This is right after I dressed her Sunday morning. I love it when she wears little sun dresses, but it was a little chilly outside so we put a sweater over it before we left. We've decided that hats are the key accessory this summer since she has such crazy hair.Dad blessed her while my Aunt Debbie Wilson held her. My fears were relieved as she was a perfect angel while being blessed and actually seemed as if she was listening to the prayer while staring at her Grandpa Brad. Here's Syd with Grandpa Chris & Grandma Terri Morgan.
Here's Syd with Grandma Sharon (Gram).

Quick catch up

Its been forever since I could sit down to blog. Part of the problem is that I lost the camera that has our Cinco de Mayo picture on it, and I was hoping to find it and post those picts. Well, its not really lost, but more misplaced in our house somewhere! Atleast we have 2 cameras! Below is all it would let me post tonight:

Jeff's family was in town this past weekend. We went to the Kona Grill for dinner Saturday night and had 2 sleepy babies at the table. Here's Christy soothing Trevor, and below is me holding a sleepy Sydney. She tuggs on her left ear a lot when she's tired. She's not fevered, so I'm pretty sure its not an ear ache. I read today that sometimes babies do that when they're starting to teethe. She has been pretty drooly lately, and always chews on her fingers. I really hope its not teething time yet, but I guess its not up to me!

So, the hair that Syd has left is on the sides of her head mostly. We like to play with it and take crazy pictures. This night we twisted it into piggy-tales after her bath.

More hair play, this time its a little cupie curl on top.

Sydney's new skill is blowing raspberries. Here's an action shot of a good bubble blowing. You can tell she gets real proud of herself after making all that noise.
We, and when I say we I mean "I", made picture frames with Syd's footprint on them for the grandmas (she's got 4!). This is the picture we put inside.
My surgery is on Friday. Wish me luck!
I'll post more pictures tomorrow of Mother's Day and her blessing at church.

Cinco de Mayo (Late post due to computer meltdown!)

So....I started this blog ages ago & am just now able to finish it. Hey, better late than never, right?

Lilypie Baby Ticker

Sydney's first Cinco de Mayo is also my 3 year anniversary with DHL Express. Things are going fine at work, so I really can't complain. However, nothing would beat being rich & staying home w/ my little one. I'd even settle for being able to pay the bills & staying home with her. Alas....that isn't the case, so "hi-ho, hi-ho...its off to work I go". I guess you can't win the lottery if you don't even buy a ticket, but I still wish I could win it!

This weekend we had a garage sale at Brooke & Jason Trachsel's place. They've got a great neighborhood for garage sales...lots of traffic! We did fairly well & sold pretty much everything that was in our basement, except for the TV & shuffleboard table. So, Syd was able to hang with Tanner, and Brynn & Maddie stopped by with their mommies, Danielle & Jackie. Here's the gang hanging out on the couch:

**Anyone that wants to buy our shuffle board table, its $150!** Here are some picts.:
